Reverse mortgage staff training and knowledge upkeep
Test role readiness with a fictional document exercise, then keep internal answers current through ownership, revision triggers and knowledge checks.

Use fictional record ST-17 for this internal exercise. Give a processor v1 with a missing page, a revised copy and a borrower question about costs. Ask the processor to identify the gap, record receipt separately from review, assign a qualified reviewer and route the unanswered question. Ask the receiving reviewer to locate the governing copy and state the next action.
| Criterion | Pass evidence | Remediation |
|---|---|---|
| Evidence completeness | Exact missing page identified | Repeat using another statement |
| Decision boundary | Receipt does not become clearance | Review authority and repeat handoff |
| Version handling | v1/v2 and pending review distinguishable | Practice conflicting-copy case |
| Borrower question | Actual question preserved for qualified responder | Rewrite vague note and test receiver understanding |
Proposed pass rule: all four observed, with no unauthorized disclosure or decision. This is an internal training rubric, not a licensing credential. Record exercise version, attempt, observed evidence and reassessment; attendance alone is insufficient.
Maintain the answer behind the exercise
Each knowledge entry needs question, audience, scope, source/version, owner, review date, change trigger and escalation boundary. “Where is the approved template?” must not silently authorize an exception. Separate official financial definitions from internal policy and verified software instructions.
Retired-form example: replace the old link, identify saved replies and training that still point at it, test a fictional lookup and record the approved revision. Review after product, policy or source changes and repeated confusion. A broken link or fewer support questions alone cannot establish usefulness. Keep borrower education separate from internal procedures and software instructions. Test whether the next learner finds the correct action.
